About the Author
Dana L. Church
Dana L. Church is an award-winning nonfiction author whose books explore the natural world - from the hidden intelligence of animals to the complex lives of bees and butterflies. She began her writing career through summer work with bumblebees, which led to graduate studies in animal cognition.
Her books span audiences from curious 8-year-olds to adult science readers, and have been recognized by the Canadian Children's Book Centre, Nature Generation, TIME for Kids, and the Science Writers & Communicators of Canada. She lives in Waterloo, Ontario.
Dana has been featured in Highlights for Children and the Canadian Wildlife Federation's WILD magazine, and was selected as a touring author for Canadian Children's Book Week 2025.
